BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRONTE:
SECTION 1. This entire ordinance is and shall be deemed an exercise of the police power of the State of Texas, and the City of Bronte for the public safety, comfort, convenience and the protection of the citizens of said City and all of the provisions hereof shall be construed for the accomplishment of that purpose.
SECTION 2: It shall be unlawful to carry on unreasonably loud and unnecessary noises in any residentially zoned area of the city or within one-half mile outside the city limits of any residentially occupied structure. A violation occurs if the sound exceeds the specified limits and it is determined that the sound is, using a reasonable person standard and taking into consideration the day of week and time of day, unreasonably loud and disturbing to the quite enjoyment and use of residentially occupied property. Law enforcement will monitor noise and make a determination if there is a violation.
(a) The playing of any radio television, phonograph, musical instrument or other sound producing machine in such a manner or with such an unreasonable volume as to disturb quiet, comfort or repose of ordinary responsible people; and
(b) It shall be unlawful to operate or allow the operation of any motor vehicle in the city:
(1) Which has had its muffler-exhaust and/or other noise-control equipment removed, altered or maintained in such disrepair as to create unreasonably loud and disturbing noises.
(2) By engaging in jackrabbit starts, spinning tires, racing engines, or other operations which create unreasonably loud and disturbing noises.
(3) Off the boundaries of a public street for racing or other operations which create unreasonably loud and disturbing noises.
(c) Limitations on environmental sound levels. It shall be a violation of this section for any person to operate or permit to be operated any stationary source or sources of sound which creates a sound level which exceeds the limits set forth in the table below within the city limits of Bronte. For the purpose of enforcing these provisions, a measurement period shall not be more than thirty (30) minutes.

SECTION 4: If any section or part of any section or paragraph of this Ordinance is declared invalid or unconstitutional for any reason, it shall not invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or section or part of a section or paragraph of this Ordinance.
